The NGXASI advanced today by 0.46% to close at 159,951.08pts, as the new year rally extends its positive momentum in DANGCEM (+4.27%), STANBIC (+8.95%) and PRESCO (+6.21%), pushing the local bourse higher.
 
In the fixed income space, the Treasury Bills secondary market traded on a negative note, driven by the bearish sentiment across all tenors of the benchmark curve. As such, the Average T-Bills yield rose by 19bps to close at 17.70%. Similarly, the FGN Bond secondary market traded on a bearish note as the Average FGN Bond yield rose by 1bp to close at 16.69%.
 
At the NFEM window, the Naira appreciated by 0.72% to close at NGN 1,419.07/USD. Crude oil price (Brent) fell by 1.73% to close at USD60.69pb.
