The NGXASI advanced today by 0.13% to close at 160,806.56pts, as the new year rally continues but at a slower pace in PRESCO (+6.17%), ETI (+3.57%) and WAPCO (+0.68%), pushing the local bourse higher.
In the fixed income space, the Treasury Bills secondary market traded on a flattish note on the shorter and mid tenors but saw significant selloffs alongside the long end of the curve. As such, the Average T-Bills yield rose by 9bps to close at 17.79%. Elsewhere, the FGN Bond secondary market traded on a flat note as the Average FGN Bond yield remained unchanged to close at 16.73%.
At the NFEM window, the Naira marginally declined by 0.10% to close at NGN 1,419.72/USD. Crude oil price (Brent) rose by 1.90% to close at USD61.10pb.
