Bears Resurface as NGXASI Dips -0.43% on Blue Chips Losses

The NGXASI declined today by 0.43% to close at 166,057.29pts, as declines in ETRANZACT (-7.27%), MTNN (-4.13%) and NB (-2.33%), drove the local bourse into the red.
 
In the fixed income space, the Treasury Bills secondary market traded on a slightly bearish note on the short end of the benchmark curve. As such, the Average T-Bills yield rose by 4bp to close at 18.22%. Meanwhile, the FGN Bond secondary market traded on a slightly positive note as the Average FGN Bond yield declined by 6bps to close at 16.96%.
 
At the NFEM window, the Naira marginally appreciated by 0.05% to close at NGN 1,419.28/USD. Crude oil price (Brent) declined by 4.09% to close at USD63.80pb.
