The NGXASI declined by 1.07% to close at 199,014.02pts, as the losses recorded in GTCO (-8.18%), MTNN (-6.46%) and ZENITHBANK (-2.27%) drove the Nigerian equities market into the negative terrain.
In the fixed income space, the Treasury Bills secondary market traded on a bearish note, due to selloffs seen across the benchmark curve. As a result, the Average T-Bills yield rose by 11bps to close at 17.81%. However, the FGN Bond secondary market traded on a positive note as the Average FGN Bond yield fell by 9bps to close at 15.68%.
At the NFEM window, the Naira weakened by 2.55% to close at NGN 1,388.38/USD. Crude oil price (Brent) settled lower by 10.26% to close at USD100.68pb.
