Nigerian Breweries remain investors delight

 

unveils 3rd Golden Pen Award for Journalist

Lagos–The Nigerian Breweries Plc (NB) continues to remain investors delight as it made the top six gainers chart of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) Tuesday August 31 2010. The Company as at the review period gained 6o Kobo from an opening price of N69.00 to a closing price of N69.60 indicating a percentage change of 0.87 percent (.87%) in the review period.

 

Meanwhile the company at a Media Briefing Tuesday August 31 2010 unveiled its plans for the third edition of the Nigerian Breweries Golden Pen Award for Journalist.

 

Yusuf Ageni, Corporate Affairs Adviser of the Brewing Company in his address affirmed that the award was instituted in year 2008 as part of the firm’s initiatives to recognise Journalist for their untiring efforts in Nation building.

 

“The Award is also designed as an opportunity to encourage media creativity and reward hard work in the industry” he said.

 

“Our company has enjoyed a very warm relationship with the media over the years. Our partnership with you is one of our most cherished relationships and we intend to continue to build and improve on it” Ageni affirmed.

 

“This year’s award open to all practicing Journalist in the Print Media nationally will run from September to December year 2010. “This means that every published report or photograph about Nigerian Breweries as a company, our brands or activities within the last quarter of this year, would be considered for the award” the NB Corporate Adviser said.

 

He further outlined the criteria for the award; which include the use of space, clarity of message (including proper caption for photographs), style of presentation (including action/movement in photographs), depths and insight. “All the stories and photographs will be judged on the above criteria” he said.

 

Ageni affirmed that winners in the various categories for this year’s Nigerian Breweries Golden Pen Award will go home with cash prices, laptops, printers and plaques.

 

A breakdown of the above is as follows, the Golden Reporter of the Year, will win the sum of N500,000, a brand new Laptop, a colour–Printer and a Plaque. While the second and third positions will receive the sum of N250,000 and N150,000, printers, laptops and plaques respectively.

 

In the Photo category, the Golden Photographer of the Year goes home with the sum of N250,000, a laptop, printer and plaque. While the second and third positions will win cash prizes of N150,000 and N100,000 including a laptop, printer and plaques respectively.
