Oil marketer, Chevron Oil Nigeria Plc, has changed its name to MRS Oil Nigeria Plc, effective December 2, 2009. According to a statement by the management of the company, the change was ratified by the shareholders at the 40th Annual General Meeting of the Company held on September 29, 2009.

 

“We have commenced the change to the MRS brand and in the coming months, our highly regarded Texaco family of products and lubricant brands will usher in the MRS brand,” the statement said.“We are confident that this change will create the landmark for the unified presence of MRS throughout Africa and the entire world.

 

“While our company name and brand is changing, it will not affect our existing relationships and contracts with out customers. Our name at the Nigerian Stock Exchange, other regulatory authorities and our Corporate Headquarters in Nigeria, will change to MRS OIL Nigeria Plc.

 

“We are certain that this change will strengthen our vision- to be the leading Integrated African Energy Company, recognised by its people, excellence and values.”
