GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Nigeria Plc (Glaxo) has notified The Exchange of the resignation of Mrs. Foluso Onabowale as its Company Secretary following her appointment as the Head of Procurement (Commercial& General) of GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) operations in West Africa.

 

 

Mr. Uchenna Uwechia who was the Legal Director of the Company has been appointed as the Company secretary.

 

 

The effective date of these changes was August 15, 2010.

Mr. Uwechia is a graduate of Law from the University of Science & Technology, Port Harcourt, Rivers State. He obtained a Masters Degree in Law at the University of Lagos after his law school at the same Institution.

Uwechia was in practice for several years before joining GlaxoSmithKline in 2006 as a Legal Manager with responsibilities for the legal operation of GSK entities in Nigeria and Anglophone West Africa Region. He also provides legal support for the GSK, SSA Head Office in Accra, Ghana. In March 2010 he was promoted to the position of Legal Director Nigeria and West Africa.
