Emerging market fund managers at the Wall Street Investment Summit have selected Nigeria as their top African investment destination.
According to a statement obtained by our correspondent on Saturday, the fund managers expressed interest in investment opportunities in Nigeria.
Speaking on behalf of the fund managers, the Country Managing Partner for Nigeria and Regional Leader for West Region, Mr. Henry Egbiki, said, “We note an increase in interest and enquiries on investment opportunities in Nigeria. Nigeria remains a target for investment in Africa.â€ÂÂ
The statement added that the summit witnessed a lot of United States-based emerging market fund managers, multi-nationals like Coca-cola and investment banks such as Barclays Capital.
Meanwhile, Ernst & Young played a prominent role in the high-profile investment summit on the trading floor of the New York Stock Exchange.
The statement further said that highlights of the event, organised by NYSE-Euronext and Africa Investor, included a panel discussion on private equity, bond markets and initial public offerings chaired by the company‘s Transaction Advisory Services Leader for Eastern Africa and Country Managing Partner for Ethiopia, Mr. Zemedeneh Negatu.
