Two new non-executive directors have been appointed to the board of First City Monument Bank Plc. They are Messrs. Mustapha Damcida and Olusegun Odubogun. Damcida is to serve as an alternate director to Alhaji IM Damcida
A statement on Thursday quoted FCMB‘s Group Head, Corporate Communications, Mr. Kenny Aliu, as saying that, the new directors were appointed to further strengthen the board in line with the bank‘s corporate governance policy.
He said, â€ÂÂThey are both tried and tested professionals of high repute and come with a wealth of experience and notable professional achievements and accomplishments.â€ÂÂ
Odubogun who is a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria started his career with Akintola Williams & Company. He later joined Deloitte West and Central Africa where he became the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.
He is a foundation council member of Business Recovery and Insolvency Practitioners of Nigeria.
He was a foundation council member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria and currently Chairman of the Audit, Investigation and Forensic Accounting Faculty of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria.
He is also a member of the Institute of Directors of Nigeria and the Nigerian Institute of Management.
Damcida is currently the managing director and chief executive officer of several notable corporate bodies in the country including Damus International Limited, Damson Properties Limited and Damus Security Solicitors.
He is also one of the directors of Prudent Risk Advisors Limited (Insurance Brokers), and Director Partner, Basic Drill Ventures.
He holds a diploma in Law and Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and Robert Morris College, Pittsburgh, USA, respectively.
