The Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria has concluded arrangement to organise a forum where selected stakeholders and captains of industry will deliberate on various strategies aimed at repositioning the profession to be more globally competitive and relevant.
The institute in a statement on Friday, said its concern about the future of the banking profession in the country, made it imperative to bring stakeholders together.
The event which is the formal admission of 83 captains of the banking industry into the senior membership cadre of the institute, is scheduled for November 30 in Lagos.
The Managing Director/Chief Executive, Skye Bank Plc, Mr. Kehinde Durosinmi-Etti, will deliver the keynote address on, â€ÂÂRaising the Profile of the Banking Profession: Challenges and the Way Forward,†at the event tagged, “7th Honourary Senior Members Investiture.â€ÂÂ
The Special Guest of Honour will be the Executive Chairman, Lagos State Board of Internal Revenue, Mr. Babatunde Fowler, while the President/Chairman of Council, CIBN, Mr.‘Laoye Jaiyeola, will be the Chairman of the occasion.
Other stakeholders expected at the forum are, the Group Managing Director/Chief Executive, Zenith Bank Plc, Mr. Godwin Emefiele; Executive Director, Ecobank Nig. Plc, Mrs. Morenikeji Adepoju ; Executive Director, Oceanic Bank Plc, Mr. Henry Oritseweyinmi Ajagbawa; and Executive Director, Finbank Plc, Mrs. Caroline Anyanwu.
Others include Executive Director, Finbank Plc, Mr. Omoruyi Iyamu, Executive Director, Citibank Nigeria Plc, Mr. Karim Fatai, Executive Director, Standard Chartered Bank Limited, Mrs. Oyeyemi Owolabi and Mrs. Ibironke Wilson of Ecobank Nigeria Plc.
