The Department of Petroleum Resources said on Tuesday that the price of fuel remained N65 per litre in Bayelsa State.
The Operations Controller of the DPR in Yenagoa, Dr. Duncan Eradiri, said this while announcing the opening of the department’s office for the first time since Bayelsa State was created 14 years ago.
He said that residents of the state would now have access to petroleum products at the recommended prices because the department would be vigilant.
Only the NNPC Mega Station in Yenagoa sells petrol and kerosine at the recommended prices.
Eradiri urged members of the public to lodge complaints at the DPR office located very close to the state secretariat complex for immediate action.
He warned that “anybody selling above that is doing contrary to government’s laid down rules and regulations on the downstream where filling stations or retail outlets are operational.â€ÂÂ
He added that the DPR office in Yenagoa would make business transactions easier for markters.
“I also want the marketers to know that DPR is operational in the state and they don’t have to go to Port Harcourt for their applications, processing of licenses and permits; the office is here and they are supposed to come to the office for appropriate information and applications that they required from time to time,†he said.
