The Board of Nigerian Aviation Handling Company Plc (NAHCO) at its meeting on Friday, November 26, 2010 has appointed Mr. Kayode Ojo, the new Ag. Managing Director/CEO. He succeeds Bates Sarki Sule, founding Managing Director/CEO who has indicated his intention to step down effectively on December 1, 2010, after the expiration of his agreed period of service.
ÂÂÂ
Mr. Kayode Ojo was until the appointment, the Executive Director; Finance and Strategic Planning. He joined the services of the company in February 2010 from his position as General Manager at Associated Discount House Limited.
ÂÂÂ
This change is coming a few months after the Board effected a change in leadership when the current chairman, Senator Ike Nwachukwu was elected to replace Ambassador Patrick Dele Cole. Under their tenure, Cole and Sule delivered a consistent growth in major financial indices for the company.
ÂÂÂ
This was the outcome of the long awaited decision to the uncertainty surrounding whether Mr. Bates wanted to stay or/and whether the Board were desirous of going in another direction after five years of meritorious service to the company – one of the few examples of the success of the privatisation policy of government.
ÂÂÂ
On the board of the company are Major General (Senator) Ike Nwachukwu, Alhaji Suleiman Yahaya (vice Chairman), Mr. Bolaji Balogun, Architect Usman Bello, Mr. Osita Onyenwe, Mr. Kayode T. Ojo, representatives of British Airways, Lufthansa Airline, and Air France.
