Total Nigeria Q3 result dip by 6.0%, Oando declare profit

Lagos (INVESTADVOCATE)-Total Nigeria Plc operating in the Petroleum Marketing Sector of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) on Tuesday declared a dip of six percent (6.0%) in its Third Quarter (Q3) for the Period Ended September 30 2011.

To record the 6.0% dip, the Firm in its Result Announcement to the Nigerian Exchange reported a Profit After Tax (PAT) of N2.566 billion in the Q3 of year 2011 compared to N2.730 billion in the corresponding period of year 2010; indicating a loss of 6.0% in the review period.

Profit Before Tax (PBT) also declined from N4.422 billion in Q3 of 2010 compared to N4.096 billion in the same period of year 2011; indicating a decline of 7.4%.

While Turnover increased by 6.5% when Total Nigeria reported a Turnover of N129.926 billion in the Third Quarter of year 2011 compared with N121.995 billion in the corresponding period of year 2010.

Meanwhile its peer in the Petroleum Marketing Sector on the Floor of the Nigeria’s Exchange Oando Plc, recorded a PAT of N10.167 billion in Q3 of 2011 compared to N7.563 billion in the same period of year 2010; representing an increase of 34.4% in the review period.

PBT reported by Oando Plc was N19.367 billion in the Q3 of year 2011 compared to N13.947 billion in the corresponding period of year of 2010; showing an increase of 38.9%.

While Turnover grew by 41.4% in the period under review, the Firm recorded N392.304 billion in the Third Quarter of 2011 compared to N277.524 billion in year 2010.

In the same vein, Food & Beverage Giant, Nestle Nigeria Plc reported a slight increase in PAT of Q3 year 2011 when it recorded N9.142 billion compared to N9.106 billion in the corresponding period of year 2010, indicating an increase of 0.4% in the review period.

Also, PBT slipped from N12.697 billion in the Q3 of 2011 compared with N13.281 billion in the same period of year 2010; representing a slip of 4.4% in the period under review.

However, Turnover increased from N57.253 billion in the Q3 of 2010 compared to N70.904 billion in corresponding period of 2011, showing an increase of 23.8%.
