Mr. Dante Ibidapo Martins officially resumed duty on Thursday, December 1, 2011 as the Head of Corporate Communications of The Nigerian Stock Exchange. His employment is part of the efforts of the management of The Exchange to strengthen the workforce in key areas of operations to reposition the bourse as the gateway to African markets.
Dante is a communications professional who brings over twelve years’ experience in Advertising, Corporate Identity Development, Events Management, Public Relations, New Product Development and Direct Marketing to The Exchange.
He joined The Exchange from Cornerstone Financial Group where he was the Head of Brand and Corporate Development with general oversight functions for Research and Development (R&D), Competitive Intelligence, Product Development, Internal and External Communications, Brand Management and Corporate Innovation.
Before this, he was Head of Brand Development at TBWA and was in charge of the group’s second line Full Service Communications firm where he was involved in the initiation, coordination and execution of communication initiatives for some of the most successful Nigerian Brands in the past eight years.
In the course of his career in marketing and communications, he worked as a consultant at different times with the Leo Burnett Advertising Group, Insight/Troyka Group and TBWA\Concept Group.
He is a Chartered Communications Practitioner with a Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing from the University of Nigeria, a degree in Management Science from the University of Winneba, a Certificate in Digital Communication and Design from the Pan African University and a Professional Diploma in Communication from the Business Education Examinations Council.
He also holds a Professional Practicing Certificate in Public Relations from the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations and is an Associate of the Institute of Direct Marketing, London.
The new Head of Corporate Communications also has broad experience on local and multinational brands in the areas of Aviation, Tobacco, Telecoms, Health Care, Oil and Gas, Shipping, Banking, Food & Beverages, Insurance and State Governments.
