Lagos (INVESTADVOCATE)-Transcorp Plc has appointed three new Directors to its Board.
The Company through notice dated September 30 2011 to the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) said the appointment of the Directors takes effect from September 29 2011.
The Directors are Stanley Lawson graduated from University of Port Harcourt, where he obtained his first class Degree in Geology in 1981; obtained his M.Sc. at University of Ibadan in 1985 and also MBA, Finance/Accounting in 1987 also at University of Ibadan. A former Managing Director/Chief Executive of African Express Bank in 2003 and served as CFO (GED Finance & Accounts) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC). Mr. Stanley Lawson is currently the Managing Partner of Financial Advisory & Investment Company Ltd.
Angela Nwabuoku is a graduate of Business Administration majoring in Professional Accounting and Business Economics; qualified as Certified Public Accountant in 1984. She is currently undergoing MBA programme at University of Warwick, Warwick Business School. She had worked and held different positions both at UBA Plc, Ecobank Transnational Incorporated, Lome, Togo and Citibank Nigeria. Mrs. Nwabuoku is presently a Non-Executive Director, UBA Plc and was a former Alternate Chairman and Director, Value Card Nigeria Plc.
Obinna Ufudo graduated from Enugu State University of Technology, Enugu; where he obtained his first class Degree in Finance in 1993; obtained MBA at University of Navarra, Barcelona, Spain in 2002. He also obtained M. Sc. in International Securities, Investment & Banking. Mr. Ufudo is a member of Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria. He was formerly Senior Special Assistant to GMD/CEO, UBA Plc and currently Executive Director/COO, Heirs Holdings Limited, Lagos, Nigeria. He is 39 years old and married with children.
In the same vein, the Company notified the Nigeria’s Exchange of the appointment of UBA Registrars Limited as their new Registrars following the termination of the appointment of their former Registrars – Afribank Registrars Limited.
“The appointment is with effect from December 31, 2011†the Notice said.
