Lagos (INVESTADVOCATE)-Morison Industries Plc (Morison) has replaced Akintola Williams Deloitte as External Auditors to the Company.
Following this development, the Company notified the Nigeria Stock Exchange (NSE) of the appointment of Ojo Adeyeri and Co. (Chartered Accountants) to replace Akintola Williams Deloitte as External Auditors to the Company.
The decision was taken in order to fill the casual vacancy in the office of the Auditors to the Company following the resignation of their former External Auditors due to inability of both parties to reach agreement during negotiations on audit fees for the year ended 31st December, 2011.
As earlier reported, a couple of Quoted Companies have dropped the services of Akintola Williams & Deloitte as their External Auditors.
In January 24 2011, Pharma-Deko Plc; operating on the Healthcare Sector of the Nigeria’s Exchange, joined the list of Companies that has replaced Akintola Williams & Deloitte as their External Auditors; when it notified the Exchange that SIAO Chartered Accountants has been appointed to replace the firm.
Also, on 20 October 2010, John Holt Plc had earlier informed the NSE on the change of their External Auditors – Akintola Williams Deloitte after serving them for 20 years.
Akintola Williams & Co was founded in 1952 in Lagos, the first indigenous chartered accounting firm in Africa by Akintola Williams referred as the Doyen of Accounting Profession in Nigeria.
He emerged as the first African to qualify as a chartered accountant.
