Listing: NSE talks with 550 Companies, receive 17 applications for Market Making

Lagos (INVESTADVOCATE)-The Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) has announced that in it’s bid to attract Companies to list on the Nigerian Bourse, its in discussion with 550 Companies, and has received 17 applications for Marketing Making.

This was as part of a Statement Friday by Wole Tokede, Senoiur Manager, Media Relations/Corporate Communications of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) and made available to www.investadvocateng.com in Lagos Nigeria.

According to the Statement, Oscar Onyema, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Nigeria’s Exchange at the maiden investors’ clinic organised by NSE in conjunction with Morgan Stanley in Lagos Nigeria announced that the Exchange was in discussions with 550 companies and has received 17 applications for Market Making.

Onyema on Market Making said the Exchange has received 17 applications from which 10 would be selected after thorough screening.

The NSE CEO further affirmed that Market Making would come with Securities Lending and would soon takeoff on the Nigerian Bourse which would help address the challenge of liquidity in the Market.

Market Making is one of the initiatives the Nigeria’s Exchange is putting in place to help reposition the Market.
