Market Report: Nigeria’s Exchange All-Share Index inches up by 0.42%

market players2The NSE All-Share Index appreciated by 84.75 points or 0.4% to close on Friday at 20,495.92 while the market capitalization of the 186 First -Tier equities increased to N6.46 trillion. Also, the NSE-30 Index appreciated by 11.23 points or 1.2% to close at 937.14. Last week, the NSE-ASI and NSE-30 Index depreciated by 1.0% and 0.5%, respectively.

Three of the four sectorial indices appreciated during the week, compared with two that so appreciated during the preceding week. The NSE Banking Index appreciated by 19.96 points or 6.9% to close at 303.29. The NSE Insurance Index appreciated by 6.00 points or 5.1% to close at 120.74. The NSE Oil/Gas Index appreciated by 0.25 points or 0.1% to close at 208.98. However, the NSE Consumer Goods Index depreciated by 12.32 points or 0.74% to close at 1,653.98. Please note that the points and percentage changes in the NSE Indices are calculated by computing the daily changes in the index values.
