Nigeria sells 100 billion naira worth of bonds

NairaNigeria sold 100 billion naira ($634.42 million) worth of debt at its regular bond auction on Wednesday, the third this year, with lower yields on both paper compared with the coupons at its previous auction, the Debt Management Office said on Thursday. 

The office said it auctioned 20 billion naira in the paper due to mature in October 2019 and 30 billion naira in bonds due to mature in January 2022, while it issued an additional 50 billion naira in 2022 maturity paper in a non-competitive sale. 

The 2019 bonds were sold at a marginal rate of 15.30 percent, lower than the 16.16 percent they yielded at the previous auction, while the 2022 instruments were issued at 15.41 percent, compared with 15.89 percent at the February auction, the debt office said.
