Nigeria’s Exchange: More Firms declare dividends

Lagos (INVESTADVOCATE)-More Firms are declaring dividends on the Floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE).

On Tuesday six (6) Companies declared dividends to investors of the Company, these includes Ashaka Cement Plc declaring N0.40, AG Leventis Nigeria Plc N0.14, Continental Re Plc; Proposed final dividend of N0.08,.

Others are Japaul Oil Plc; Proposed final dividend of N0.02, Tantalizers Plc; Proposed final dividend of N0.02 and MRS Oil Nigeria Plc proposed a dividend of N0.75.

According to their Corporate Actions to the Nigeria’s Exchange, Ashakacem announced that Qualification date is June 01 2012 while closure date is 4th – 8th June 2012 and payment/Annual General Meeting (AGM) date would be advised later.

A review of the Cement Company’s Audited Report for the Period Ended December 31 2011, shows that Profit After Tax (PAT) increased from N3.004 billion in 2010 end to N3.572 billion in 2011; indicating an increase of 18.91 percent (18.91%).

Profit Before Tax (PBT) also grew to N4.763 billion in 2011 from   N4.389 billion in 2010; showing a growth of 8.52% in the review period.

Turnover also increased slightly to 8.49% as Ashakacem posted N20.780 billion in year 2011 end compared to   N19.153 billion in year 2010.

AG Leventis Nigeria says in its Corporate Action that Qualification Date for its proposed N0.14 dividend to shareholders of the Company is April 27 2012 and closure date is 30th April- 5th May, 2012; while payment date has been scheduled for July 09 2012 after is AGM scheduled to hold in Lagos Nigeria on July 05 2012.

In its Audited Report for the review period, PAT of the Company dipped from N648.234 million in year 2010 end to N542.868 million in year 2011 end; representing a loss of 16.25%.

PBT on its part increased to N1.022 billion in year 2011 end compared to N787.562 million in the review period, showing an increase of 29.77%.

Turnover also grew from N13.353 billion in 2010 end to N18.095 billion in 2011 indicating a 35.51% growth.

For MRS Oil Nigeria, the Qualification Date for the proposed dividend of N0.75 is June 15 2012 and Closure Date is 18th-22nd June 2012.

AGM to be held in Lagos Nigeria and payment date has been scheduled for 11 and 12 July 2012 respectively.

On its part, Tantalizers Plc says that Qualification Date for its proposed N0.2 dividend to its shareholders is May 25 2012 and Closure Date is May 28-30 2012. AGM date has been scheduled for July 28 2012.

Tantalizers Plc’s PAT increased by 66.0% as the Company posted N101.869 million in year 2011 end compared to N61.349 million in 2010.

However, PBT decreased from N153.388 million in 2010 end compared to N83.586 million in the review period of year 2011 end; representing a decrease of 45.5%.

Turnover also dipped from N4.889 billion in year 2010 end to N4.604 billion in the review period of year 2011; showing a dip of 5.8%.

Japaul Oil & Maritime Services in its Corporate Actions to the NSE affirmed that Qualification Date for its propose N0.02 dividend payout to investors of the Company is June 13 2012 and Closure of Register of Members is June 14-15 2012.

Turnover of the Company increased from N7.133 billion in year 2010 end to N10.247 billion in the review period of year 2011; indicating an increase of 43.7%.

Profit After Tax also increased from N792.753 million in year 2010 end to N980.438 million in year 2011 end; showing an increase of 23.7%.

While Profit Before Tax also grew from N1.071 billion in 2010 end to N1.447 billion in the review period year 2011; indicating an increase of 35.1%.

Continental Reinsurance Plc says in its Corporate Actions that Qualification Date for its Proposed Final dividend of N.08 is 9th – 13th July, 2012 and payment date has been scheduled for 19th April 2012.

A look at its Audited Year Report for 2011; shows that PBT grew slightly by 0.16% as the Company posted N1.232 billion in year 2011 end compared to N1.230 billion in 2010 end.

PBT also increased slightly from N1.585 billion in 2010 end compared to N1.596 billion in year 2011; showing an increase of 0.69%.

However, Gross Earnings declined from N10.253 billion in year 2010 end to N9.484 billion in the review period of year 2011; indicating a decline of 7.50%.
