Lagos (INVESTADVOCATE)-Guinness Nigeria Plc Tuesday said it has appointed a new Non-Executive Director Yvonne Ike.
This is contained in a Notice to the Nigerian Stock Exchange in Lagos Nigeria and made available to www.investadvocateng.com.
The appointment of Yvonne Ike as a Non-Executive Director of Guinness Nigeria is effective April 26 2012; coming on the heels of the resignation of Ifeoma Mafeni from the Board of Directors of the Company with effect from 13 April 2012.
“The Company has notified The Exchange that the Board of Directors of Guinness Nigeria at its meeting of Thursday, 26 April 2012 accepted the resignation of Mrs. Ifeoma Mafeni from the Board of Directors of the Company with effect from 13 April 2012. Until her resignation, Mrs. Mafeni was Human Resources Director of Guinness Nigeria Plc†the Notice said.
Ike holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics. She started her career as an auditor with Ernst and Young International and has been an FSA registered representative since 1994. She was a Managing Director at JP Morgan, where she spent 15 years of her career until 2009. MS Ike is an internationally regarded investment banker credited with pioneering a number of ground-breaking transactions in West Africa region. She has more than 18 years’ experience in financial services, including capital markets operations and fixed-income, derivatives and equities products. Over the course of her career, she has led senior teams in New York, Geneva, Hong Kong, Nigeria and South Africa. She is presently the CEO West Africa, Renaissance Group (Investment Banking).
With the above changes on the Board of Guinness Nigeria Plc. now comprises of the following notable individuals; Babatunde Abayomi Savage as Chairman, Nick Blazquez, Vice-Chairman, Devlin Marc Hainsworth, Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer (MD/CEO), Mark Taylor, Joseph Ogbonnaya Irukwu and Bitrus Gwadah.
Others are Bismarck Jemide Rewane, Lisa Gillian Nichols, Zainab Abdurrahman, Rory John O’Keefe and Philip John Jenkins.
This is coming on the heels of the appointment of Seni Adetu, who is currently the CEO and Group Managing Director of East African Breweries Limited, (EABL), a subsidiary of Diageo Plc; will resume as MD/CEO of Guinness Nigeria with effect from 1 July 2012.
Following the meeting of its Board of Directors on Thursday, 26th April 2012, Devlin Hainsworth, MD/CEO of Guinness Nigeria will effective 1 July 2012, assume the role of CEO and Group Managing Director of EABL, a subsidiary of Diageo Plc.
