US Consul General Rally support NSE

Lagos (INVESTADVOCATE)-The United States of America (USA) Consul General Joseph Stafford Monday rallied support the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) during a courtesy visit to the Stock Exchange House in Lagos Nigeria.

The visit of the Consul General Stafford to the Nigeria’s Exchange is in commemoration of his tenure expiration.

According to him, the Oscar Onyema’s led Management since assuming office so far has made tremendous efforts in making the NSE a world class Exchange.

He further affirmed that Stock Exchanges in the World are vital to any economy. “The role of an Exchange in any economy is vital; considering all the economic reforms which brings prosperity to the society” he said.

“We as Representatives of the Consulate of the United States of America have come to promote cooperation, understanding, friendship and solidarity to the Nigerian Stock Exchange” the US Consul General said.

In his response, Oscar Onyema, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Nigerian Bourse said the support of the US Consul General to the NSE during his tenour in Nigeria has been of immense help in so many areas.

Also, Emeka Madubuike, the President of Association of Stockbroking Houses of Nigeria (ASHON), while speaking at the occasion requested the Consul General to always help make travelling to the US easier for his members; so that they can canvass for business without hindrances offshore.

“Very soon we will be going to the US for a Road Show and I urge you to make it easier for our members to travel easily to the US; without much bottlenecks in the area of documentations” he said.
