Wema Bank Appoints 3 new Directors

Lagos (INVESTADVOCATE)-Wema Bank Plc Wednesday announced the appointment of three (3) new Directors to its Board to the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE).

This is contained in a Notice to the Nigeria’s Exchange and obtained by www.investadvocateng.com in Lagos Nigeria.

“The Company has notified The Exchange that the Board of Directors of the Bank at its meeting held on Thursday, March 22, 2012 approved the appointment of the following individuals as Directors of the Bank” the Notice said.

The three (3) new Directors of Wema Bank includes, Moruf Abiola Oseni as an Executive Director, Samuel Oladipupo Durojaye as a Non-Executive Director representing Odu’a Investment Company Limited and Emmanuel Ayodele Awodeyi as a Non-Executive Director; also representing Odu’a Investment Company Limited.

Moruf A. Oseni graduated from OAU, Ile Ife in 1997 with B.Sc. Computer Engineering. In 2000 he obtained MSc in Finance at Imperial College, London and Masters in Finance (MiF) at London Business School in 2007.

He enrolled at INSEAD (Institut European d’Administration des Affaires) where he obtained Masters in Business Administration (MBA). He started his career with Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas Company as Executive/Network Administrator in 1997.

In 1999 he set up INESO Trading, and as the Founder/CEO he was involved in secured funding, managed business evolution and negotiated deals with trade partners. Between 2000 and 2006, he was at various times Financial Analyst and Associate/AVP with Salomon Brothers/Citigroup Global Markets; where he executed numerous debt transactions for UK & Irish financial institutions. Mr. Oseni is a member of Nigeria Institute of Management and Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer.

Samuel Durojaye is a fellow of both Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria.

He is also an Associate Member of both Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers of Nigeria and Institute of Directors of Nigeria. Mr. Durojaye is a former Commissioner of Finance, Ogun State between 1999 and 2003.

He started as an Audit Trainee with Balogun Ayanfalu Badejo & Co. in 1980 and rose to the position of Audit Senior. He was at various times Accountant, Finance Manager and Brewery Account of Nigerian Brewery Plc between 1985 and 1999.

A former Director of Towergate Insurance between 2001 and 2003. He was Managing Director/CEO of Pilot Securities between 2004 till date. Mr. Durojaye is married with children.

Emmanuel Ayodele Awodeyi obtained Professional Banking Diploma in 1978 through correspondence courses.

He is a fellow of London Chartered Institute of Bankers. He is also Associate Member of Institute of Directors, Nigerian Institute of Management as well as British Institute of Management.

He has worked for several Banks such as Union Bank of Nigeria, defunct African Continental Bank, Afribank Nigeria Plc (now Mainstreet Bank Limited), defunct Industrial Bank Limited (Merchant Bankers).

A former Managing Director/CEO of Industrial Bank Limited. Hon. Ayodele is an astute banker and presently the Executive Chairman, Compensation Investment and Securities Limited. He was elected into the Ondo State House of Assembly between 2007 and 2011. He has attended many local and international seminars, workshops and training programmes. He is married with children.
