This, it added, would enable the bankers’ committee identify at the preliminary stages, gaps that would impede the effective implementation of the framework.

In the statement, it directed all deposit money banks to avail the CBN of  some information which included names of staff manning the controlled functions specified in Appendix B of the draft framework; academic and other relevant qualifications of the incumbent staff; number of years of experience on the controlled functions and  post qualification and general banking experiences.

CBN also asked for other competences that would support the performance of the controlled functions; and details of identified deficiencies in skills, qualification, experience and competences as well as measures envisaged to remedy the positions within 18 months of the approval of the framework.

“Your response, should reach the Director Financial Policy and Regulation Department before September 14, 2012,” the CBN statement added.
