The 2012 Annual Conference of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers (CIS) will begin today in Lagos with the theme: ‘Appraisal of the Nigerian Economy and Agenda for Sustainable Capital Market Recovery.’
The conference would appraise the economy as a whole in terms of which area the government should concentrate on or what they have done. The CIS annual conference is one of the largest and longest running professional gatherings of investment professionals in Nigeria.
Speakers at the conference would include top economists, great investors, well-published investment authors, economic and political leaders, and other decision makers who play a part in shaping today’s critical realities.
The Director-General of Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Ms Arunma Oteh; Chief Executive Officer of Nigerian Stock Exchange, Oscar Onyema; Director-General of National Pension Commission (PenCom), Mr. Muhammad Ahmad; and Managing Director of Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON), Mustapha Chike-Obi, are some of the speakers who would make presentations at the event among others.
