Lagos (INVESTADVOCATE)-GTB Asset Management Limited (GTBAM) former subsidiary of Guaranty Trust Bank Plc (GTBank) is now INVESTMENT ONE Financial Services Limited.
The new name was unveiled Friday at the Corporate Head Office of the Company in Lagos Nigeria.
Nicholas Nyamali, Managing Director (MD) of the Firm who unveiled the new brand said the new ownership structure provided an opportunity for INVESTMENT ONE to choose a new name and identity that aligns with its aspiration, values and objectives.
“The name “INVESTMENT ONE†mirrors the organisation’s desire to be a one-stop shop for comprehensive investment services and the “first point of call†for insightful and innovative financial solutions. The name also reflects the firm’s strategic positioning as a service oriented firm that is responsive to the investment needs of its customers†Nyamali said.
According to him, the orange, grey and white colours in the logo connote INVESTMENT ONE’s warm, professional and trustworthy nature. “The diagonal arrows signify dynamism, professionalism and forward thinking as well as the Company’s desire to chart a sound investment direction for its customers†he said.
He affirmed that the Orange colour and logo shape were retained to remind the Company of its roots as a “chip of the old block†from its former parent company (GTBank). The Company’s character and pedigree remains the same and that it will continue to adhere to the cardinal tradition, vision and values since its formation as a subsidiary of the Bank†Nyamali affirmed.
It will be recalled that the Central Bank of Nigeria, (CBN) two years ago mandated Banks to divest from all non-banking subsidiaries in the country.
“This Company was sold mainly to the Management and Staff; that was the document that was signed between us and the Bank; so there was a management buyout†he said.
Nyamali said INVESTMENT ONE, was set up with the vision of providing investment education and service to Nigerians, “in our country, unlike in other parts of the world, there is very little knowledge and participation in investment†he affirmed.
He further affirmed that INVESTMENT ONE will introduce innovation into the investment management space in the country; with a key goal of attracting more Nigerians into the investment space.
According to Nyamali, INVESTMENT ONE has four (4) services it provides; these include, Advisory Services, Stock Broking Services, Fund Management and Trusteeship Services. “So, that full cycle from Advice, to Execution, Manage and Trust; it’s what we offer and we think in one place, people should find a comprehensive investment services in one location, that’s part of the thinking behind the name INVESTMENT ONE†he said.
Late October 2012 INVESTMENT ONE launched a “Virtual Investment Simulator†(VIS) a gaming platform designed to educate Potential Investors and Researchers to enable them interact with the Nigerian Equities.
INVESTMENT ONE is licensed by Nigeria’s Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), and with this rebranding, the company’s business horizon is further broadened to deliver exceptional investment solutions in advising, executing, managing or transferring wealth to future generations, through its full complement of investment solutions.
