PenCom gets interim head

pencomFollowing the expiration of the tenure of the chairman and executive members of the board of the National Pension Commission on December 16, 2012, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Pius Anyim, has directed that the affairs of PenCom be handed over to Mrs. Chinelo Anohu-Amazu, who is the most senior general manager in the commission.

A statement from Head, Communication Unit, PenCom, Mr. Emeka Onuora, on Tuesday said that Anohu-Amazu was a key player in the pension reform, and was part of the team of experts that midwifed the Contributory Pension Scheme in Nigeria .

It added that she served in the Fola Adeola Pension Reform Committee set up by former President Olusegun Obasanjo, whose work led to the enactment of the Pension Reform Act 2004, and received a presidential commendation for the quality of work done on the 2004 pension reform.
