Top 10 Brokers Close with Deals 23% Less in Value

Lagos (INVESTADVOCATE)-The Top 10 Brokers on the Nigerian Bourse has ended the week with deals 23 percent (23%) less in value when compared to the previous week.

Last week, the Top 10 Brokers by value ended the week with deals worth N34, 669,699,202.62 compared to N26,960,403,373.78 recorded this week; indicating a decline of 23% in the review period.

This week end, the Top 10 Stockbrokers accounted for 64.22% of the total value traded compared to 70.35% recorded last week.

A review of the performance of the Top 10 Brokers in value shows that Stanbic IBTC Stockbrokers Limited still leads the pack with N 7,537,692,347.56,  Rencap Securities Nigeria Limited  transacted Deals worth N5,674,546,074.08 to close the week.

Also, CSL Stockbrokers Limited transacted deals worth N2, 775,452,932.14, Zenith Securities Limited N 2,281,451,863.89 and Cordros Capital Limited N 2,262,242,546.63.

Others are Chapelhill Denham Securities Limited, Meristem Securities Limited and Primera Africa Securities Limited transacted deals worth in value of N 1,539,073,318.64, N 1,346,481,683.70 and N 1,276,163,970.90 respectively.

While ARM Securities Limited and FBN Securities Limited did deals worth in value of N1,164,072,423.56 and N1,103,226,212.68 respectively; amounting to deals worth in value of N 26,960,403,373.78.

For the Top 10 Brokers by volume for the week ended Friday March 08 2013, Stanbic IBTC led the table trading volumes of 351,613,818, Meristem 290,631,262 and RENCAP 275,728,423.

Others are CSL Stockbrokers, APT Securities and Cordros Capital doing deals worth in volume of 143,423,816, 132,405,038 and 125,218,162 respectively.

While, Zenith Securities transacted deals worth in volume of 119,922,449, Primera Africa 118,915,344, ARM Securities 108,218,038 and Chapelhill transacted deals worth in volume of 96,652,486 to close the week.

This put together amounts to a volume of 1,762,728,836 which accounted  for 45.72% of the total Volume transacted between March 03 and March 08 2013 to close the week; compared to 2,082,787,568 total volume of deals transacted last week.
