Lagos (INVESTADVOCATE)-SIM Capital Alliance Limited Monday announced the appointment of Andre Roux a new Director to its Board following the resignation of Thomas Schultz.
According to the Notice from the Company to the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) and made available to InvestAdvocate in Lagos Nigeria, the Company appointed to its Board Roux to replace Schultz and he will serve on the Board of SIM Capital Alliance Limited and the Investment Committee of the SIM Capital Alliance Value Fund.
“Roux was appointed as Chief Investment Officer of Sanlam Emerging Markets in 2012. Prior to that, Roux headed up the fixed interest team in South Africa for nine (9) years during which he was a voting member of Sanlam Investments’ Asset allocation, credit and asset and liability committees†the NSE Notice said.
According to the Company, Roux joined SIM in October, 1998 after the portfolio management function of Sanlam was outsourced to SIM. He had before joining SIM, held a variety of roles at BoE and Gensec Asset Management in the fixed interest and equity markets.
He began his carrier in the financial industry as a dealer in Transnet’s treasury division in 1988.
Roux holds a B. Com Hons (Economics) from the University of Stellenbosch in 1987. In his spare time, he enjoys outdoor activities, Scuba diving and restoring furniture.
The effective date of the resignation of Thomas Schultz and the appointment of Andre Roux is February 28, 2013.
On his part, Schultz, a Director on the Board of the Company which is jointly owned by Sanlam Investment Management of South Africa and African Capital Alliance.
He represented the interest of Sanlam, resigned from the Board of SIM Capital Alliance to pursue other interest within Sanlam.
