Bothered by the undue pressure on bank customers as a result of charges on transactions, Resort Savings and Loans Plc has introduced an account with zero COT charges.
The Head of Business Development of the mortgage bank, Mr. Olayemi Popoola, made this known to journalists in Lagos on Thursday at a press conference to herald the introduction of the account.
Popoola said of the account, “It is important to get an account that gives you all the benefits of a current account combined with the opportunities of meeting all your banking transaction needs such as electronic banking, mobile banking, debit cards and SMS Alert without charges on turnover.
“The Resort High Yield Flexi Account is specially designed to ensure seamless transactions for account holders of this esteemed product nationwide. It has a minimum affordable opening balance for both individual and corporate customers.
“Apart from the wide varieties of electronic banking products, this product provides the opportunity of cheque lodgements as well as third party withdrawals, thereby giving the customers the privilege to manage their funds perfectly without paying charges such as the Commission on Turnover on their monthly transactions.â€ÂÂ
The account, according to him, is also linked with mortgage-backed products such as the National Housing Fund, Resort Investment Mortgage Plan and Resort Early Home Ownership, giving a gateway to asset creation.
Despite the zero COT, Popoola said the products attracted good interest rate too, which was one unique feature as customers would get a two-in-one account package service.
He, however, said for customers to enjoy the benefits, their minimum operating balance of a token amount should be maintained.
This, he said, was a way of ensuring that the RSL met its banking obligations conveniently.
