Lagos (INVESTADVOCATE)-Nigeria Aviation Handling Company Plc (NAHCO) Tuesday announced it has appointed Ahmed Tijjani Uwais as a non-executive Director and Hadiza Aliko Mohammed as an Independent Director.

AHMED TIJJANI UWAIS

43 years old Ahmed holds an LLB from the University of Ibadan, (1994) and obtained his BL Certificate from the Nigerian Law School, Victoria Island, Lagos (1995).

Uwais started his legal career as a Senior Counsel with Abdullahi Ibrahim & Company from 1995 to 1998 and between 1998 – 2003 worked with Wali, Uwais & Co; Abuja as Managing Partner. He is presently the Principal Counsel of Ahemd Uwais & Co. F.C.T., a position held since 2003.

He is a member of Nigerian Bar Association, Member of International Bar Association, Member Capital Market Solicitors and Associate, Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, Nigeria among others.

Among his publications are Co-Editor, Nigerian Monthly Law Reports and the Nigerian Electoral System ‘Reflections on the Nigerian Electoral System’ 2012.

HADIZA ALIKO MOHAMMED

The first Northern Woman Chartered Insurer holds an Ordinary National Diploma (OND) Business Administration from the Padworth College, Reading, UK in 1986 and in 1989 she obtained her Diploma in Marketing from Chartered Institute of Marketing.

In 1989, Hadiza obtained her Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Business Studies and Sociology from the Roehampton Institute of Higher Education, London, UK and in 1991; she became an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Insurance (ACII) from the Chartered Institute of Insurance, Kent, UK.

She got her Post Graduate Diploma (PGD) in Islamic Banking and Insurance from the Institute of Islamic Banking and Insurance, London, UK in 2007 and in 2011, she obtained her Masters (MA) in Islamic Banking, Finance and Management (University of Gloucestershire awarded).

Hadiza started her working career with the Continental Merchant Bank where he did her compulsory Youth Service (1989-1990). Between 1991-1992, she became a Management trainee with Nelson Hurst International Insurance Brokers, London. She joined Industrial and General Insurance Company Ltd, (IGI) Lagos Nigeria, as Manager – Medical Expenses Insurance (1992-1995) and later became an Executive Director (Finance and Administration) – 1996 – 2002.

She is presently the Managing Director, Turners Building Products (A) Limited. A position she held since 2002.

Hadiza Aliko Mohammed has made many publications and facilitated many educational workshops among which is ‘’The Nigerian Stock Exchange and its effect on the Nigerian Economy’’. She is 45 years old.
