ETI’s 3.13 billion shares admitted into DOL

The Nigerian Stock Exchange has admitted Ecobank’s Transnational Incorporated’s 3.13 billion ordinary shares of 50 kobo each into its Daily Official List.

The NSE’s report for the week ended September 6, 2013 noted that the equities were added to the company’s shares outstanding and were admitted for trading on the floor of the Exchange last week.

 It explained that the addition was as a result of a placement by the issuer to the Public Investment Corporation, which was approved by the Quotations’ Committee Management of the NSE.

In the Over-the-Counter Bond market, a turnover of 114.94 million units valued at N119.52bn were exchanged last week in 470 deals.

This was in contrast to 105.623 million units worth N114.29bn exchanged the preceding week, in 693 deals.

The report noted that last week, a total of 1,372 units of NewGold Exchange Traded Funds valued at N2.984m were executed in two deals compared to a total of 2,748 units valued at N6.004m transacted the preceding week in 13 deals.

Also, 1,800 units of FGN bonds valued at N2.022m were traded last week in 10 deals in contrast to 1,345 units valued at N1.502m transacted the previous week.

In all, a turnover of 1.138 billion shares worth N14.13bn were exchanged by investors last week in the equities’ market in 24,122 deals.

This was in contrast to 1.490 billion shares valued at N14.83bn, exchanged the week before in 24,590 deals.

At the close of trading activities for the week, the financial services sector led on the activity chart, as trading in the sub-sector accounted for 704.56 million shares valued at N5.985bn in 13,362 deals.

The conglomerates sector followed in the activity chart with 158.59 million shares valued at N397bn traded in 1,117 deals.

Jos International Breweries Plc led the price gainers’ chart in the week under review, rising by 60.07 per cent or N1.76 to close at N4.69 per share.

Vono Products Plc followed on the chart, rising by 43.30 per cent or 42 kobo to close at N1.39 per share, while DN Meyer Plc and Paints and Coatings Manufacturing Nigeria Plc gained 31.47 per cent and 25.29 per cent to close at N1.88 and N2.13 per share in that order.
