Honeywell Appoints 3 New Directors

Lagos (INVESTADVOCATE) – Honeywell Flour Mills Plc, operating in the consumer goods sector of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) Monday announced it has appointed three (3) new Executive Directors (EDs) into the Board of the company.

The company in a notice to the NSE said it has appointed Olanrewaju Bamidele Jaiyeola as Managing Director (MD) (designate).

According to Honeywell, Jaiyeola is to fully assume this role upon the retirement of the incumbent MD in April

2014.

The other appointee is Rotimi Gbenga Fadipe appointed to the Board as Supply Chain Director. He heads the Logistics and Supplies function, Supply Chain and Audit. While Benson Evbuomwan was appointed to the Honeywell Board as Marketing Director.

Jaiyeola is a graduate of Mathematics & Statistics from the then University of Ife, now Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife Oyo – State. He also holds a post graduate degree in Business Administration from the University of Lagos and is a chartered member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and an Associate member of the Nigerian institute of Marketing.

He has over 25 years post qualification experience across various business sectors out of which about sixteen (16) years has been invested so far in manufacturing.

Jaiyeola trained and worked as an auditor with the international firm of Akintola Williams & Co. His audit experience spanned all key business sectors (manufacturing, banking, insurance, oil & gas, service, NGO etc).

He joined the Honeywell Group in September 1993 as an Accountant. He has attended various local and overseas courses which includes the Seniour Management Programme (Lagos Business School), Basic Milling course (Buhler Ag; Uzwil-Switzerland) and Advance Management

Programme (Insead, Fontainebleau – France).

Lanre has grown from an accounting position to the seniour management cadre having worked in various capacities and across units of the Honeywell Flour Mills Plc. business. From, finance through sales to operations, he has made valuable contributions to the growth of the Company.

He is a patron of the Nigerian Red Cross Society.

On his part, Fadipe holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Lagos.  He also holds a Higher National Diploma in Estate Management from Yaba College of Technology.  He is currently pursuing a Masters Degree programme in Logistics and Procurement Management at the University of South Wales, United Kingdom.

Fadipe  is Fellow of both the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria. He is also a Chartered member of The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, United Kingdom and member, Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply, United Kingdom.

He is an alumnus of Pan-Atlantic University (formerly Lagos Business School), having previously attended the Seniour Management Programme (SMP) and Seminar on Logistics and Supply Chain Management. He is an alumnus of the Business school of IMD, Switzerland where he completed a programme on “Managing the Global Supply Chain”.

Fadipe is considered a specialist in Supply Chain Management and has over 20 years post qualification experience and has acquired varied and robust experience and skills in Negotiation and Commercial operations; Commodity trading and Procurement operations; Imports & Shipping Operations; Warehousing and Distribution management; Finance & Treasury services; Audit and Tax services; Team Building and Leadership; People and Conflict Management.

He started his career as an Audit Trainee in Deloitte Adetona Isichei & Co. (Chartered Accountants) now, Akintola Williams before he joined McEsta Investments Limited as a Treasury & Credit Officer.

He joined the Honeywell Group as a pioneer member of the Honeywell Management Trainee

Programme, now Honeywell Excellence Programme. He pioneered the Supply Chain functions within the Group and has been providing strategic direction for related responsibilities of Inbound and Outbound logistics and procurement operations; including coordinating the supply chain functions for new projects and business expansions since 2003.

Fadipe has also attended many courses (local and foreign) where he obtained training in Grain Procurement, Ocean Freight Management, Risk Management in Commodity Trading, Logistics & Supply.

He is an accomplished mentor, coach, resource manager and business leader.

While Evbuomwan was trained as a Pharmacist from the University of Benin, he is also a registered Practitioner of Advertising and a member of the Advertising Practitioners’ Council of Nigeria as well as the Nigerian Institute of Management.

Evbuomwan has over 22 years post qualification experience out of which about

16 years is in Marketing Management and spent the first six years doing the mandatory internship (pre-registration to practice as Pharmacist), the National Youth Service Corps and four(4) years in Community Pharmacy Practice.

He made a switch to Marketing when he joined Procter & Gamble Nigeria (a subsidiary of Procter & Gamble, a Fortune 500 Company), as an Assistant Brand Manager.

He had a robust training and rich experience in Marketing and Brand Management at Procter & Gamble (P&G), a global leader and inventor of the popular Brand Management concept.

While at P&G he coordinated a massive point-of-market-entry education and sampling programme in schools and hospitals and within one year reached about 1.3 million consumers (teens, tweens and new babies/mums) in 150 cities across five (05) countries in West & East Africa(Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda).

He also started the Pampers Hospital programme in four (4) of the five (5) countries (Ghana, Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda).

Evbuomwan was also responsible for Procter & Gamble West & East Africa’s Media Planning & Buying in five countries where he delivered huge media value worth over one million US dollars within one year of taking on this responsibility. At Procter & Gamble, he managed 6 Agencies (4 Promotions Agencies and 2 Media Planning & Buying Agencies).

He also attended several training courses at P&G including the Assistant Brand

Manager’s College (Belgium, 1999), Corporate Marketing/Media Managers’ Training (Switzerland, France, Belgium: 2001-2003), Brand Managers’ College (France, 2004), etc. He also obtained training at the online Procter & Gamble Marketing University and attended several other trainings on Management, Communication and Leadership.

Evbuomwan joined Guinness Nigeria Plc (a subsidiary of Diageo) as a Marketing Manager, Guinness Brand. At Guinness Nigeria, he trained on the Diageo Way of Brand Building (DWBB) and Diageo Way of Brand Building with Customers in Lagos, Nigeria (2005) and attended several other training courses. He led the biggest-ever National Consumer Promotion for Guinness Brand (as at 2005) which led to 23% growth in volume and 2% points market share-gain versus previous year.

At Guinness Nigeria, he managed a team of 4 Agencies (1 Creative Agency, 2 Media Planning & Buying Agencies plus 1 PR Agency).

Evbuomwan joined Honeywell Flour Mills Plc in September 2006 as General Manager, Marketing. He led the Honeywell Flour Mills Marketing transformation including the establishment of structured Marketing Department with the full complement of personnel. He designed and implemented Marketing Agencies restructure through a pitch process to hire 5 new Marketing Agencies (Creative, Media Planning & Buying, PR, Experiential Marketing, Research).

He led a highly successful Marketing and Publicity campaign for Honeywell Flour Mills Plc IPO at a time of difficulty with the capital market. He also led the launch of Honeywell Wheat Meal including packaging development and advertising and communications plan. He also started advertising development and campaign for flour, semolina and wheat meal brands for the Company.

Evbuomwan is a great team player, highly analytical and a strategic thinker.
