Lagos (INVESTADVOCATE)- The Nigerian Stock Exchange All-Share Index (ASINSE) Tuesday closed the year 47 percent up showing a rising 2 percent (-2%) on the day to 41,329 points.
Similarly, the market capitalisation of the listed equities was up by 2.12% or N247.27 billion to close at N13.24 trillion.
According to reports, the principal drivers were cement manufacturer Dangote Cement, up 3.9% to close at N218.99 and food and beverages giant Nestle, up 2.12% to N1,200 naira per share.
In terms of sectoral indices, the NSE Banking Index recorded the highest as it increased by 3.77%. Contrary to this, the NSE Insurance Index fell by 0.65%, and emerged the highest sectoral loss to close the day.
