UBA Foundation supports health sector

The United Bank for Africa Foundation, the corporate social responsibility arm of the bank, has said it is sponsoring doctors and nurses from the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital to India for neo-natal care studies.

This, the bank, said was part of its effort to contribute to the development of the health sector in the country.

The cheque for the sum of N5.8m representing the cost of their training, was presented last week to officials of LASUTH.

The Group Managing Director, UBA Plc, Mr. Phillips Oduoza and Managing Director, UBA Foundation, Ms. Ijeoma Aso, presented a cheque of N5.8m representing the cost of the training, to officials of LASUTH at the bank’s head office in Lagos.

A statement by the bank quoted Aso as saying that the move was in furtherance of the Foundation’s intervention in the area of child mortality in the country.

She recalled how the bank had donated incubators to teaching hospitals across the country.
