Skye Bank Commences Ria Money Transfer Service

Skye Bank Plc has gone into partnership with Ria Money transfer service as part of its effort to satisfy its customers.

The new service complements the bank’s other international money transfer platforms.

Speaking at the launch of the product in Lagos yesterday, the bank’s Group Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer designate, Mr. Timothy Oguntayo said the product is in tandem with bank’s concept of value creation and addition.

He noted that for banks to function as a one-stop financial supermarket where customers’ needs can be seamlessly taken care of, such financial institutions must provide needs-satisfying products timely and effectively.

Oguntayo said the new money transfer service would be available at the bank’s 250 branches nationwide as well as through some specially designated branches, assuring that quality service would be the watch word.

“This is to broaden our channel of service to our customers. In the money transfer business, we also are into partnership with some other organisations and we are known for abiding by rules and regulations.

“We have about 250 branches and they are strategically located. We also have subsidiaries in three other countries that we can also extend this service to. But at the heart of this are our customers. We want to make sure we satisfy all their needs,” he added.

Also speaking on the new product, the bank’s Executive Director, South South/Retail Banking, Mrs. Ibiye Ekong, assured the general public that the bank would make funds remittance and collection easy, safe and convenient for both senders and recipients alike.

Ekong said the bank would strive to make Ria Money the reference in money transfer business in the country.

In his remarks, the Business Development Director, Africa, Middle East and America, Ria Money, Mr. Manuel Villena, described the Nigerian market as the largest in Africa. This fact, he said, informed the decision of the company to come into the country.

“Africa is a key corridor and market in international funds transfer business. So, we chose to be close to where the customers are”, he said.

He assured customers of the bank that the money transfer services comes with a lot of benefits.

Villena commended Skye Bank for its giant strides in banking, saying his company and the bank have a lot of synergies which informed their business partnership.
Skye Bank Plc also has the franchise of Western Union money transfer and Moneygram International.
