Dangote Postpones Investors Forum on Ebola Fears

Lagos (INVESTADVOCATE)-Dangote Industries Limited has postponed its planned investors forum on fears of the dreaded Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) according to a report by Bloomberg on Tuesday.

The report said Carl Franklin, chief investor relations officer of the company in an e-mail from London said the forum scheduled for Thursday September 25, 2014 in Lagos Nigeria has been put on hold to allow   more international investors to attend, as the company has severally expressed some concerns about travelling. ‘’The event is not likely to be in the next few weeks,” Franklin said.

So far in Nigeria, seven (7) people have died as a result of the virus and 19 cases have been recorded according to Onyebuchi Chukwu, Nigeria’s health minister.

Last month Aliko Dangote, chairman of the Dangote Group and Africa’s richest man, with an estimated fortune of $24.1 billion donated $150 million to fight the Ebola virus.
