The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has approved the full implementation of the resolutions contained in the 2014 National Conference Report as well as the modalities for the implementation of the report as approved by the conference.

Chief Edem Duke, a Minister in Nigeria’s federal cabinet and Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), who are both members of FEC, announced the decision during a briefing after Wednesday’s FEC meeting.

The officials said the cabinet meeting praised members of the conference for their service to the nation.

The SGF said the Minister of Justice, Mr. Mohammed Adoke has been directed to compile the recommendations of the report that requires constitutional backing and send to the National Assembly for consideration and approval.

The recommendations that deal with just policy matters will be referred to the relevant Ministries and Departments of federal government as well as state and local governments for appropriate implementation, Anyim said.

“The journey has started,” the SGF added.
