Seplat to Pay Shareholders 2014 Dividend at N196.50/$1

Lagos (INVESTADVOCATE)- First listed Nigerian oil and gas upstream firm, Seplat Petroleum Development Company Plc (SEPLAT) said on Friday it will pay shareholders that qualify for and have elected to receive the 2014 final dividend payment in naira or pounds sterling at N196.50/$1 and $1/£0.6375.

“The exchange for the naira or pounds sterling amounts payable was determined by reference to the exchange rates applicable to the US dollar available on 21st May 2015,” the company said in an issuer’s announcement to the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE).

According to SEPLAT, the final dividend of 9 US cents per share it announced on 26th March, 2015, is subject to shareholder approval at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) to be held in Lagos, Nigeria on 02 June 2015.

It said if approved, the final dividend is to be paid on or shortly after 10 June 2015 to shareholders on the register as of 21st May 2015. “The Nigerian shareholder register will be temporarily closed on 22nd May 2015 to enable the Company’s registrar, DataMax Registrars Limited (“DataMax”), to prepare for the payment of the final dividend,” SEPLAT added.
