Lagos (INVESTADVOCATE)-Nigeria’s tier one lender, Guaranty Trust Bank Plc (GTBank) has emerged winner of the most innovative bank in Africa Innovation in (Banking); while its CEO, Segiun Agbaje was named as the “Banker of the Year”.

Agbaje was recognised as Africa’s Banker of the Year alongside other winners which include South Africa’s Daniel Matjila, who heads PIC, and Cameroonian economist and banker, Paul Fokam, who wins the Lifetime Achievement Award.

The winners of the 2016 African Banker Awards were announced in Lusaka, Zambia.  The Awards were held Wednesday evening, Day 3 of the African Development Bank (AfDB) Annual Meetings.

Share price of GTBank at the close of Thursday’s session on the Nigerian bourse gained 014 percent to N21.00 from N20.97 reported the previous session; showing a gain of 0.03 kobo per share.
