Chinese Pianist Lang Lang played the night away on Thursday, August 18th at an exclusive Mastercard concert in Corcovado. Originally, the performance was to take place outside at the renowned Christ the Redeemer, however, it was relocated indoors to the Paineiras Hotel due to weather conditions. Despite the rain, this acclaimed young talent in classical music delighted the select group of guests and cardholders with a priceless performance starting with Chopin n2.
Having performed around the world with leading orchestras, Lang Lang took a moment after his first piece to share his appreciation for the opportunity to perform in such a wonderful city. He then played “The Girl from Ipanema”, a recognized Brazilian bossa nova jazz song, making for a Priceless night in Rio.
Christ the Redeemer has been a wonderful addition to Mastercard’s Priceless Cities program, whose goal is to offer consumers priceless experiences in areas of gastronomy, entertainment, accommodation and shopping. Lang Lang’s concert not only composed an unforgettable night of classical music, but reinforced Mastercard as a proud company supporter of Christ the Redeemer.
