The Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, on Wednesday, suspended the planned increase in the tariff for mobile data.

This is coming hours after the Senate ordered the agency to halt the increment as well as the public outcry that greeted the planned action due to take effect from Thursday, December 1, 2016.

The telecoms regulator announced the immediate suspension of the new minimum pricing template for data services by mobile operators, explaining that its decision is to allow for further consultation.
