A Conversation with Christine Lagarde – The Economic Imperative of Empowering Women (Live Webcast)

In celebration of International Women’s day, the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) will hold a Smart Women, Smart Power conversation with IMF Managing Director Christine Lagarde about women, work, and economic growth. Ms. Lagarde will discuss issues related to the social and economic benefits of women’s empowerment; the economic policies and business actions that can achieve this; and how women and men in leadership positions can support these efforts. The Managing Director will also launch a new IMF book titled “Women, Work, and Economic Growth- Leveling the Playing Field”.

What:      IMF Managing Director Christine Lagarde will participate in the Smart Women, Smart Power series at CSIS to discuss and share ideas about the social and economic impact of women’s empowerment. The Smart Women, Smart Power (SWSP) initiative is designed to amplify the voices of women in foreign policy, national security, and international business.

Ms. Lagarde will also launch an IMF book on Women, Work, and Economic Growth.
