The Nigerian Senate has today confirmed the nomination of Aisha Ahmad and Edward Lametek Adamu as Deputy Governors of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
The Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki, thanked the committee on Banking and Finance and all other senate members for this action. The senate last week promised the country that within a week it would carry out this confirmation and it has been done today, said Dr. Saraki.
Dr. Saraki also congratulates the two nominees and particularly Mr. Edward Lametek Adamu whose upliftment to a Deputy Governor will be a great encouragement to the staff of the CBN who will see one of their own in this position. He is of the opinion that it will boost the morale within the institution.
He congratulates the management and Mr. President, and all those who have been involved in this entire process.
