Vitor Gaspar, Director of the IMF’s Fiscal Affairs Department, will present the findings of the analytical chapter of the upcoming Fiscal Monitor entitled “Digital Government” at the Peterson Institute for International Economics (PIIE). Digital technologies have spread rapidly in much of the world, including governments.
Greater availability and access to timely and reliable information can transform how governments conduct fiscal policy, and the analytical chapter of the IMF’s April 2018 Fiscal Monitor examines both the gains and risks from digitalizing public finances. Mr. Gaspar will discuss how digitization can help governments implement current policy, address new policy challenges, and how governments can balance the associated opportunities and challenges.
The event will be webcast live at piie.com and IMF.org.
