IMF Set for G24 Conference

What: The Intergovernmental Group of Twenty-Four on International Monetary Affairs and Development (G-24) is a forum to coordinate the positions of developing countries on international monetary and development finance issues. The key issues for discussion amongst G-24 Ministers at this year’s meeting will be this year’s agenda focus on “Harnessing Global Recovery to Strengthen

Inclusive Growth”.

A formal communiqué will be issued immediately prior to the press conference. In addition to the main theme on the agenda for Ministerial discussion, the communiqué will cover recent developments in international trade, debt sustainability, international tax cooperation, the role of Multilateral Development Banks in financing infrastructure and the role and reform of the governance of the IMF and World Bank Group.

G-24 Membership:

Africa: Algeria, Côte d’Ivoire, Egypt, Ethiopia, Gabon, Ghana, Kenya, Morocco, Nigeria, South Africa and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Latin America and the Caribbean: Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Haiti, Guatemala, Mexico, Peru, Trinidad and Tobago and Venezuela.

Asia: India, Iran, Lebanon, Pakistan, Philippines, Sri Lanka and Syria.

Special Invitee: China.
