At plenary yesterday, the Nigerian Senate deliberated on an executive communication on the request of Mr President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The request is based on seeking the approval of the Senate of a promissory note and bond issuance programme to settle inherited local debts and contractual obligations.
The senate eventually resolved to set up an Ad-hoc Committee to look critically into the promissory note and bond issuance programme and advice the senate appropriately.
