Lagos (INVESTADVOCATE)-The Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) all share index (ASI) as at midday Monday is up +0.19 percent on gains across sectors.
InvestmentOne reports that market movers are cement producer, Lafarge Cement Wapco Nigeria Plc and insurer, Nigerian Insurance Plc; both have gained +10.00 percent respectively; while Ikeja Hotels Plc and Beta Glass Plc; are down -9.90 percent and -9.09 percent apiece.
In terms of sector performance, the NSE Industrial and Banking indices have gained +3.06 percent and +0.16 percent each; while the Consumer Goods inched up by +0.02 percent; the Oil & Gas depreciated -0.35 percent.
In terms of market activity, InvestmentOne reports in Monday’s early trade, total volume and total value declined by 32 percent and 17 percent respectively compared to this time last Friday, as investors have exchanged 98 million units of shares worth N1.26 billion.
Pan-African lender, the United Bank for Africa Plc gained +1.59 percent to emerge the most actively traded stock with 19 million units of shares accounting for about 19 percent of total volume.
“Likely close: In the absence of a significant loss in DANGCEM, we may see the market close up today if the gains across most sectors continue,” the Investmentone report affirmed.
