Lagos (INVESTADVOCATE)-The Nigerian Stock Exchange all-share index (NSEASI) as at midday Tuesday is up +0.25 percent on gains in the Consumer Goods, Oil & Gas counters.
InvestmentOne update says market movers are Nigerian Aviation Handling Company Plc and Japaul Oil & Maritime; both have gained +5.29 percent and +5.00 percent each, while on the negative side are drugmaker, Fidson Healthcare Plc and insurer, Niger Insurance Plc; both are down -10.00 percent and -9.09 percent apiece.
In terms of sector performance, the Consumer Goods and Oil & Gas sectors are up +0.17 percent and +0.12 percent apiece, while the Banking index dropped by -0.04 percent, the Industrial is also down.
According to InvestmentOne update, market activity in Tuesday’s early trade, shows that total volume and total value increased by 14 percent and 164 percent respectively compared to this time on Monday as investors have exchanged 42 million units of shares worth about N973 million.
Top tier lender, Guaranty Trust Bank Plc with a loss of -0.26 percent is the most actively traded stock with 11 million units of shares accounting for about 26 percent of total volume.
“Likely close: In the absence of a significant loss in DANGCEM, the market may close up today if the gains in Consumer and Oil & Gas names continue,” the InvestmentOne report affirmed.
