Intraday Update: Nigerian Stocks Up +0.36% on Gains in Oil & Gas, Consumer Goods Counters

Market movers: SEPLAT (+10.00%), UCAP (+9.77%), VERITASKAP (-8.75%), FIDELITYBK (-3.55%).

Sector Performances: Oil & Gas (+4.63%), Consumer Goods (+1.00%), Banking (-0.02%) and Industrial.

Market activity: In today’s early trade, while total volume jumped 274%, total value declined by 58% compared to this time yesterday as investors have exchanged about 116million units of shares worth about N229million. FCMB (+3.90%) is the most actively traded stock with 102million units of shares accounting for about 88% of total volume. 

Likely close: In the absence of a significant loss in DANGCEM, the market may close up today if the gains in Oil & Gas and Consumer Goods sectors continue.
